The Medical Scientist Program (MSP) at the Ohio State University involves rigorous training in both clinical medicine and basic research that leads to both the MD and PhD degrees. Our unique integrated curriculum was cooperatively developed by faculty from the Integrated Biomedical Science Graduate Program (IBGP), the Independent Study Program (ISP) of the medical school, the Neuroscience Graduate Program (NGSP), and the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Program (BME).

The breadth and depth of expertise of the scientists in the graduate programs and outstanding research faculties at OSU ensure research training at the highest levels. The nationally recognized clinical faculty and facilities at the OSU College of Medicine and Medical Center provide medical training that is recognized as being among the best in the country. The integration of both aspects of this program provides the highest quality of training in both areas that is required of physician-scientists who will be leaders in academic medicine and research.
